About the foundation

" KortársFMJ Foundation " began its operation in Hungary in 2014 thanks to the partnership among painter Joseph Ferkovics, journalist Katherine Bohdan and manager Julianna Fodor. It aims to promote contemporary artists in the 21st century with the key idea of building an art colony in Budapest and one in Visegrad, with workshops and art camps. Many talented volunteers have recently joined the foundation and currently project development and task allocation is taking place. The organizers are exerting all their knowledge and time to achieve the foundation’s goals, and provided a detailed project plan to achieve their goal: http://kortars.fmjalapitvany.hu.


Board of Trustees - Team


Julianna Fodor – founder, Chair of the board of directors. Graduated from an economic technical college in 1985. Has recently been gaining knowledge in real estate and stock brokerage. Possesses broad company management and strategic planning experience. Between 1992 and 2015 started up a number of different companies achieving strong results with small and medium-sized businesses. Upon graduation from the School of non-profit management in 2013 decided to establish a fund to support artists (including sculptors, writers, and musicians).

Ferkovics József – Foundation Vice-President, world-known artist. Has painted since early childhood, a hobby that eventually became a professional occupation. Has participated in contests since 1974 and was a student of graphics designer Horvát János. In 1982 József learnt from artists such as Paizs László and Foti Erne in the Budapest College of Applied Arts and Design. Meanwhile received a formal education and a diploma in this field, after which he began to teach students himself. His paintings were exhibited in many cities of the world, including Munich, Berlin, Naples, Shanghai, Washington, Toronto and Montreal. Of course, his work was also displayed in Hungary: Budapest, Pécs, Nagykanizsa, Zalaegerszeg, Vác, Székesfehérvár, Veszprém and Szombathely.

Bohdan Katheryna – Foundation Vice-Chairman. Graduated from the University of Szeged in 2012 from the department of media and communication and specialized in mass media research, communication development, reporting and interviewing. Writes and has been publishing poetry since the age of 15. Katheryna speaks five languages. She worked as a tutor of English and German in a private language school.
